UCLA Project Welcome (A program for students in grades 8-11)

UCLA launched Project Welcome, a program where students from grades 8-11 and their Parents/Guardians sign up to receive college prep tips via SMS text and email from UCLA Admissions. 

 

UCLA Admissions will send up to 4 SMS text messages monthly to students in grades 8-11 (ages 13-17), and to their parents/guardians who sign up.  Vital information included in this new program are:

  • Suggested coursework needed to be a competitive college applicant
  • Insight on test preparation and planning
  • Motivation toward extracurricular involvement and engagement
  • Exposure to major and minor exploration and visioning
  • The importance of saving for college and avenues to fund education
  • Exposure to financial aid and scholarship information tips
  • Inspirational student stories on their paths to higher education

Students in grades 8-11 can also text TIPS to 82521 to receive prep tips from UCLA Admissions (must be at least 13 years old; data rates may apply)
